Technology on the Table at the Open Innovation Summit in Saint Vincent

Wherever food innovation is happening, Foodforward is sure to be there. On the 6th and 7th of July our team attended the Open Innovation Summit organized by Digital Magics, one of the main incubators for digital startups in Italy, and partner of the Foodforward program.

The 3rd edition of the Open Innovation Summit continues to gather of corporate representatives, startups and innovation players to explore the use Open Innovation as a tool to develop the global digital ecosystem.

In over two stimulating days, delegates discussed different topics, technologies,  innovation methodologies and best practices as well as the challenges and steps required to take the innovation ecosystem in Italy to the next level.

One of the panels, titled “Technology on the Table”, welcomed Marco Perrone, Senior Manager of Deloitte and Foodforward program leader. Along with Layla Pavone, CMO of Digital Magics, Daniele Bruttini, founder of Quomi, Bruno Garavelli founder of Xnext and Stefano Molino, partner at Innogest, Marco shared his view on Open innovation in the food sector:

“Open Innovation means creation of value using external knowledge and assets with a win-win strategy for all involved actors. This is exactly the model adopted by FoodForward, the foodtech corporate accelerator powered by Deloitte: on one side the best startups at international level who are able to create new solutions from existing problems, and on the other corporations and VCs looking for new opportunities and willing to spread innovation through new or existing markets”.

Foodforward is focused on being one of the driving forces to bring Open Innovation in the food system to the next level, and to make Italy a hub for new ideas, new products, and new practices. With the continued support and involvement of partners and collaborators, the future of food has never been more exciting!
