One of the last (but not least) stop of the Foodforward international roadshow has been in Hong Kong.
The Asiatic capital is one of the most advanced cities in terms of innovation, especially in the fintech and meedech sector. Innovation is a key priority for the local government which is seriously investing in the development of innovative startups. In this frame, also the foodtech sector benefits of a rich and dynamic ecosystem.
On July 27th, in the Inno Space of the HKPC Building, the Foodforward team had the opportunity to meet the local foodtech startups community. The event was organized thanks to the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), a multi-disciplinary organization established by statute in 1967. HKPC’s mission is to promote productivity excellence through the provision of integrated support across the value chain of Hong Kong firms, in order to achieve a more effective utilization of resources, to enhance the value-added content of products and services, and to increase international competitiveness.
HKPC provides some valuable services to the startup community, as a coworking space and advanced laboratories where entrepreneurs can test and prototype business ideas using for example 3D printers, VR and AR tools.
The majority of the Hong Knong startups we met are developing interesting new products, ready to be on the Asiatic market, or B2C services for innovative commercialization of existing products.
During the event the startup DayDay cook also shared his growth story: from a simple recipe blog the team manage to scale the business to a reference platform also launching products with their own brand.
We are looking forward to accelerate Asiatic startups: Foodforward can be the starting point for a growth in Italy and in Europe!
